Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 300 employees And has the following statistics:

- 30 have been accused of spousal abuse.
- 9 have been arrested for fraud.
- 14 have been accused of writing bad cheques.
- 95 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses.
- 4 have done time for assault.
- 55 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit.
- 12 have been arrested on drug related charges.
- 4 have been arrested for shoplifting.
- 16 are currently defendants in lawsuits.
- 62 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year.

Can you guess which organization this is? It is the 301 MP’s in the Canadian Parliament. The same group that cranks out hundred of new laws designed to keep the rest of us in line. Which one did you vote for?

Taken from the Ottawa Citizen.

Basis of the United Church of Canada - I find this interesting from a historical perspective. It was an attempt to "reintegrate" a few disparate Christian denominations. The result was not reducing the number of churches from three to one, but to increase it from three to four.

From The Art of Seduction. We can often see a little bit of ourselves in some of these descriptions. If we recognize them and the effect they have on those we want to attract, then we can make some effort to control them. Edit: Which of these do you see a bit of in yourself?

Brute: Displays no patience, concerned only with their own pleasure.
Suffocater: They cling to you, smothering you with guilt if you attempt to leave.
Doormat: Slavishly imitates you, appears unable to have an idea of their own or even be able to disagree with you.
Moralizer: Follows rigid ideas and attempts to bend you to their standards. Endlessly critical and judging, they are unable to adapt and enjoy.
Tightwad: They think they are being generous when they offer crumbs, and refuse to let you take a risk.
Bumbler: Self-conscious, they worry about themselves, how they look, or the consequences of their actions.
Windbag: They talk constantly, expecially about themselves.
Reacter: They react to every perceived slight to their ego, and will lash out if you attempt to back out. Prone to whining and complaining.
Vulgarian: Inattentive to details, no sense of timing, and often indiscrete. Poor impulse control.
Perfectionist: They seek an ideal partner that you may, at first, seem to be. Eventually they find those faults that show that you do not match their ideal.

An NRC article on how they help athletes shave time off their performance using our wind tunnels. Reading it is a breeze.....

From class: It is believed that Einstein plagerised his Theory of Relativity primarily from Poincaire and Lorentz. This argument has once again arisen following the publication of a new book by Christopher Jon Bjerknes.

From CBC Radio: Killer whales in a Niagra Falls aquarium have learned to use the fish they are fed as bait to attract seagulls that they subsequently eat. Other whales observed the beheviour and have now adopted it. This type of learned has only been observed in humans previously. I'm waiting to hear that they've learned to use som trick to catch bigger game (like some of the thousands of tasty morsels that walk by the tank every day).
