Sky Commuter concept car. The one shown here is the last remaining prototype from a company that went belly-up in the 80s. Their big problem was that the craft could only manage 10 feet of lift before becoming unstable. If can get on eBay quickly, you might be able to snag it for $62,600(US).

How do you want your eggs? Scrambled? Sunny-side up? Gun-shaped?

Those of you with an old-style radiator might find this product useful. The product consists of a ceramic tray that sits atop the radiator, sucking up heat. You can then place things on the surface you want to keep warm, like coffee or muffins. No word on when this product will move from concept to being offered in stores.

For those who may not be aware, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is currently underway. One of the gadgets that appeared was the Photosimile, billed as a "PC-controlled desktop photography studio". It includes a light box and rotating turntable that lets the photographer a series of different shots of the product. What is really cool is that the system comes with software to stitch up to 20 photos together to generate a 3D image of the object in just 3 minutes.

The Eye-Fi is a 2Gb SD memory card for digital cameras with the added feature that it can make the stored images available on a wireless network. Available now for $100(US) from Amazon, and it probably can be found at most electronics and camera stores. You can apparently set it up that as soon as you bring your camera home it automatically uploads your photos to your home PC (assuming both camera and PC are on), and can even upload them automatically to one of many supported photosites such as Fotki, flickr, or Facebook.

MAKE Magazine discusses a project in which you can build a business card that calls a predefined number. The idea is that if you want to contact the card-holder you simply follow he instructions ans the card will connect you to them.

Based on the instructions it appears that card generates the auditory tone sequence that is recognized by the telephone network and is not, in fact, a cellphone-on-a-card.

The XYXX condom case is described as what contraceptives would look like if they were designed by Apple. My wife noted that it looked kind of like a guillotine. Either way, seems an effective form of birth control.

This concept PC takes the idea of scribbling an idea on a napkin a step farther by making the "napkin" a touch-sensitive e-paper sheet RF-linked to a nearby receiver as shown in this image. The base station can then be linked to a regular computer so that multiple base stations can be linked. Multiple napkins can be linked to make a larger writing surface. The RF link is inductive so the napkin doesn't need a transmitter, and using e-paper means the display is passive, not active so requires minimal power.

The right-angle lens lets you take pictures of people beside you without them knowing. I'm sure there are lots of legitimate uses for this. Really. Just can't think of any. A $40(US) idea for the closet stalker on your list.

Hide your radiator in plain sight by disguising it as a harp. Looks like something [personal profile] siderea would like.

The "water table' is not actually covered in water but uses the same type of glass used for telescopes.

CarCapsule lets you cover your car it's own plastic dome to prevent it being covered with snow. Looks like a silly idea until you spend 20 minutes some morning scraping off ice after a night of freezing rain.

One inventor has proposed a solution to numb limbs for sleeping couples. Personally, I'm not sure how comfortable a mattress made of foam blocks would be.

The KA-56 "Wasp" is a single-person helicopter developed Russia in 1971 to be folded down small enough to be carried by a single (presumably strong) person.

Nothing says Christmas like a fire-bombed automobile, or so thinks the makers of these "Urban Collectables". Yours for only $50(US), or you can pick up a can of gasoline and a Matchbox car for a do-it-yourself project.

For those of you fortunate enough not to have our snowfall levels, you can pretend to be Canadians with our own snow-maker for only $2,400(US). A cheaper alternative is to buy your own authentic Canadian snowbank on eBay.

The "Hello Kitty AR-15". Some guy made this for his wife in response to California's  assault weapon ban to show that guns can be cute and cuddly too. The "Hello Kitty" franchise is trying to expand their market to include men, but I doubt you'll see this as part of the catalogue.
