"The Weblog Awards are the world's largest blog competition, with over 1 million votes cast in the last three years for nearly 1,000 blogs. This year's edition is the biggest ever with 45 categories to choose from. Nominations ended November 24, and voting began December 7 and will end December 15."
It is intereresting to just read each of the categories to see who was considered eligible for the final vote. I don't recognize most of the ones listed here (Geek factor... slipping)
Best comic strip - Sluggy Freelance is in the running.
Best Technology Blog - Four are in the running that I use, Techdirt, Gizmodo, Engadget, and Slashdot
Best Video Blog Ask A Ninja and Lonelygirl15 are the ones I recognize.
Best VideoDiet Coke and Mentos somehow made it onto the list. Go figure.
