Science has an answer for those of you with money to spare, a love of cats, and are allergic to felines. They have apparently isolated a gene that, when suppressed, means the cat does not trigger allergies. In effect, a hypo-allergenic cat. No word yet on what the cat has to say about this. The gene was isolated by the old-fashioned technique of breeding for low allergic response. Each cat can be purchased for $4,000(US).
