An interesting article pointing out what may be some problems with growing up so connected; namely, being able to discard your past and start fresh, as many of us of the older generation have, sometimes on several occasions.

That's a very good point...

But at the same time, this "adult re-invention" is something relatively new. In the (not so) good old days, people didn't "move away" from their community. People grew up, lived, and died in the same village. This re-invention didn't happen.

The author, in fact, mentions near the end of the piece that "adult re-invention" may only have been the blip of our generation.
