North American extinction theory gets new evidence - courtesy of a researcher who, incidentally, had set out to provide the theory was false. Geophysicist Allan West had postulated at a 1-mile wide asteroid exploded over Canada 12,900 years ago, setting much of the Canada ablaze and leading to mass extinctions. The latest research determined that diamond, gold, and silver deposits in Ohio and Indiana originated in Canada, something that could only have happened following a cataclysmic explosion over the Canadian diamond fields.
