IBM, it appears, has been busy. In addition to cutting salaries to its employees, it is buying Canadian software company Cognos for $5 billion. This adds to the growing list of Canadian companies being purchased by non-Canadian businesses.  Earlier this month, Vancouver-based MDA announced that it was selling it's Radarsat and Canadarm interests to US-based ATK for $1.3 billion. ATK is an arms manufacturer that builds land mines and cluster bombs for the US military and its allies.

So far, 2 MDA employees have quit in protest because they don't want to work for an arms dealer.

I only knew of one at the time of the article, and he had left the US to work in Canada because he didn't want to be involved in work used specifically in weapons systems. According to the article, his decision to leave MDA was pretty much a no-brainer.
