Follow the link to see a Youtube video of a demonstration of the resilience of the Asus LS201 monitor. After attempting to hammer nails into the screen they shoot it with a crossbow.
It is still very impressive, despite the fact that there are more powerful crossbows out there. Though those arrows managed to dig about 1/4 inch into the wood...and without knowing what kind of wood that is still fairly impressive. And also knowing that the screen managed to bend the tips of the arrows. All of that shows that the monitor can withstand a little more than just common wear and tear.
Perhaps it might be useful to note that the purpose of the demonstration was not to destroy the monitor but to show the maximum force it can withstand and not take noticeable damage. If they had wanted to test to destruction, a bullet would have served, as would a more powerful crossbow. What they, in fact, used was the medieval equivalent of a 22-calibre rifle... sufficient to hurt or kill someone but not if they had any kind of armour.
My outburst was caused by me being a geek. When I hear "able to resist a crossbow" (or riffle for that matter), I have certain expectations. For the general public though, this demo is pretty spiffy.
And now that I step down from my geek soapbox, I have to admit, that well, that a rather resilient monitor. It`s certainly more crossbow resistant than I am :D
