For those of you in Ottawa, Gladstone Theatre presents The Lieutenant of Inishmore, completely with 5 litres of fake blood and an exploding cat. No, I haven't seen the play.

Longtime tech blogger Roland Piquepaille recently passed away at the age of 62. His blog was the source of some of the tech posts that appeared on his journal. His presence in online tech community will be missed.

Five Somailan pirates drown in a storm, taking with them $3 million(US) in ransom money they had just collected from Saudi Arabia for the release of their tanker, which had been held for the previous two months.

Ebook DRM provider goes dark, the books you paid for disappear - Boing Boing

eBook provided Fictionwise had contracted with another company, Overdrive, to provide DRM. Under the arrangement, whenever people who had purchased an eBook from Fictionwise moved the eBook to new media, Overdrive would be contacted to verify the owner of the eBook. If everything checked out, the user would be allowed to use the eBook on the new media. Now, Overdrive is shutting down, leaving Fictionwise's customers with no way to verify their DRM-locked purchases should they decide to move to new media. Fictionwise, lacking the decryption keys, can do nothing for their customers.

Teens, Sex and Technology - World of Psychology

A recent survey of 1,280 teens and young adults (presumably in the US) revealed that 1 in five teens and 1 in three young adults have sent sexually explicit pictures of themselves to others either by posting them online or through their cellphone.
