The following artists have created remarkably realistic graphics using Adobe Illustrator. Don't view them at work because some of the images are nudes. They were all generated using vector graphics and in many cases are practically indistingishable from photographs.

Wayne Forrest (some images NOT worksafe)
Yukio Miyamoto
Koji Masui (site is in Japanese)
Highside (site is in Japanese)
Paul Bush (some images NOT worksafe)

Ann Paidrick (seems worksafe)
Takashi Morisaki (site is in Japanese, seems worksafe)
Bert Monroy (seems work safe, pretty much all buildings and cityscapes)
Ussa Methawittayakul (at Deviant Art)
Halim Ghodbane (site appears worksafe)
Brooke Nunez (appears worksafe)

Wow. Some of those are incredible.. not how I would want to do it myself, better to use a program for what its designed –but from an art perspective they did some amazing work!

I'm jealous, even if its not how I would want to hone my skills. Thanks for showing these!

I thought they were pretty cool, but my interest is in virtual reproduction of real-world objects (actually, it's the focus of my PhD) so these sorts of things catch my eye. Not anywhere within my skills, but I appreciate the difficulty involved in creating these things.
