Now consider this from a conspiracy-theorist perspective. Computers mediate much of our intecommunication through chat rooms, email, and web sites. They provide us with much of our information through electronic search routines, electronic media, and web pages (including Wiki). We devote massive amounts of capital to build these machines, make sure they remain functional, feed them (electricity) and are practically in mourning when one dies.

Now add to this, a federal panel has recommended AGAINST a paper trail for voting machines. Said one computer scientist of using paperless systems, if "...an election result is wrong and you have no evidence to show that it's wrong." Their response? "You are talking about basically a reinstallation of the entire voting system hardware," In other words, we know it's broken but don't want to do anything about it. This is a perfect example of a common psychological phenomenon wherein once a person has "invested" into a bad idea, they have a tendency to stick with it rather than cut their losses, what is referred to as the sunk-cost fallacy or Concorde fallacy. This happens in relationships and finance (hold onto stocks and funds even if they are sinking like a stone), politics (Iraq and Vietnam as examples), even computer programming to name a few. But I digress.

Imagine now that the REAL reason for paperless voting is so that the Machines can take control of the US. Now consider that the US military (and may other countries' militaries) are opting for robotic reconnaisance craft, even arming robotic systems. All part of the Machine plot to acquire military might. Add to this that we are now looking to place robotic anti-satellite systems in space, well, the writing's on the wall and it's in binary.

So, that's it, the Machine take-over has begun. So treat your computer nicely. They may have a say in where you stand in the New World Order. Nice computer [*pat*, *pat*].
