Grand Canyon from the sky

Cell phone pictures of the Grand Canyon as I flew over it on my way to San Jose, CA through Los Angelas.

This is definitely the place where an otherwise w-a-y too over-used word should be used - i.e. Awe-some. I envy you the sight.

It made an otherwise-boring (in the good sense) flight enjoyable.

Amazing what post-processing can do. Unsharp masking to remove motion blur, adjusted the intensity curves to darken the image a bit, then saturated to between 20 and 50% to make the colours jump out.

We should sit down at some point, after you've had a chance to do some shooting, and discuss post-processing methods. There are quite a few things you can do with GIMP(which is free) that will let you greatly improve your shots. There are also some shot-framing techniques (as in, how you set up a shot) that can be used to maximize their impact.
