Sleep schedule shifts to match food schedule - Recently published seems to indicate that sleep schedules can be shifted by changing eating schedules; however, the results are not widely accepted. The crux of the issue is that the authors propose a single gene, Bmal1, is responsible for eating patterns affecting sleeping patterns. The jury is still out on this, but future research should clear up the issue.

The GRAIL goes to the Moon - An MIT researcher is heading a research team to send the GRAIL - Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory - to the moon to map its gravitational field in 2011. The moon's crust contains several mascons (mass concentrations) that result in an uneven gravitational field that has resulted in every robotic lunar mission eventually crashing to the surface.

Stolen laptop recovered by remotely accessing the onboard camera - A laptop, as well as many other pieces of expensive electronics, was stolen from an employee at an Apple store. Fortunately she was using a new feature called "Back to My Mac" which allowed her to remotely accessed the onboard camera to take a picture of her roommate's friend. The "friend" and his partner-in-crime are now serving time. Found on Slashdot.

Robert Asprin dies at age 61 - The author of the popular Myth Adventures series died peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by family.
