Cool video

An unofficial anti-Bush video using the Depeche Mode song "John the Revelator". The song has been stuck in my head for a couple of days now.

And the original video made by Depeche Mode

We'll see if this works as advertised by LJ. It shoud show the opening screen with a big green "Play" button. If not, use the links to the originals at YouTube, but be warned that they will begin playing immediately.

this is a repeat - I posted that link onto my journal, I liked it so much - but since your readers and mine don't overlap 100%, here is my take on it:

besides the amusement, there is a lot here implied - religious belief molds US policy. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Zionism for instance. In brief, to avoid death, some "the end is near!" christians figure they will go straight to heaven via the Rapture IF the end of the world happens while they are alive (according to prophecy, before the end of the world good christians will be plucked from the earth and go straight to heaven, therefore avoiding the unpleasantness of the End Time). Israel needs to be in control of their historical land (notably jerusalem) to fulfil the prophecy so the end of the world happens. I think they are supposed to get their asses kicked during said end of the world, so it's not a very nice thing to wish for...

But yeah, some people with influence in the USA believe that - no wonder the world is batshit insane.
