Vitamin D Linked To Cognitive Problems In Older People

The study found a direct correlation between Vitamin D levels and the level of cognitive impairment in older people. Previous studies had determined that those with greater levels of cognitive impairment are at higher risk of developing dementia. The study is of particular interest because as people age they are less able to generate Vitamin D from sunlight so must rely more on food sources.

NFB makes films free online

Canada's National Film Board plans to eventually make all of its films free online. They will be making 10 new films available each month. Those outside of Canada will more than likely be unable to access them unless you perform some software gymnastics.

Most striking Ottawa transit workers want their work deemed essential: bus driver

The title may be a bit misleading. Based on a reporter speaking with several striking workers, the people interviewed felt that "most" transit workers would be willing to accept less flexibility in scheduling in return for being designated an essential service. Those interviewed said that if they were an essential service then there might be greater pressure on both the Union and the city to reach an agreement.
